My first podcast!
A huge thank you to Wallace Currie for having me on R2Kast.
I've just recorded my first ever podcast, and I'm really grateful to Wallace Currie for the invitation onto R2Kast and for making it such an easy conversation to have. We covered a lot of ground: my route into agriculture from outside a farming background, starting with veterinary medicine before deciding it wasn't the right path, and the winding road from there through livestock genetics, cattle IVF, rare breed conservation and farm consultancy into agricultural technology. We talked about Regeno and the FarmWalk app, which is free for farmers and uses AI to pull the millions of data points a farm throws off into something actually useful, everything from rainfall and soil results to environmental schemes and using photos to simplify farm records. And we got stuck into regenerative agriculture properly: my research comparing rotational grazing against set stocking, native breeds, soil biology, and why better data might finally tell us what regenerative farming is genuinely achieving. Life as a new dad got a mention too, inevitably.
